Dealing with colours - Part 2: Yellow & Blue

Part of our history, part of our life

For over 10,000 years, humans have collected and worn gems. Gemstones were once considered little pieces of heaven on earth--either specks of starlight or teardrops of a god--with names inspired by the solar system. They still hold symbolic significance today.

Yellow

Yellow is the colour of happiness, confidence and creative energy. It’s the colour preferred by people of high intellect and it brings wisdom and joy. In nature, yellow is the colour of sunflowers and daffodils, bananas and lemons, bees and birds, sunlight and sandy beaches.

In the ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman empires, yellow gemstones were associated with the life giving powers and positivity of the sun.

Psychologically, yellow is optimistic and revitalising, bringing the energy of the sun and a youthful exuberance as well as a feeling of confidence and prosperity.

Interesting fact: Yellow, the colour of our bright Sun is the easiest colour to see.

Our favorite yellow stones are Agate, Jade, Citrine, Pyrite, Amber and Ametrine (a combination of yellow and purple).

They will help you on your way to find your inner motivation, to express yourself and to create results in real world. The yellow gemstones will help you wake things up and add zest, optimism and meaning to your life and relationships.

Blue

Blue is gorgeous and expansive. It is the colour of the sky and the ocean, so it has a deep connection to nature. It is the colour of open spaces, freedom, intuition, imagination, inspiration and sensitivity.

Blue also represents meanings of peace, trust, sincerity, wisdom, faith and intelligence.

Our favourite blue gemstones are: Blue Apatite, Blue Agate, Sodalite, Lapis Lazuli, Fluorite, Chrysocolla and Turquoise.

Blue-green gemstones have a connection to positive communication and clarity, helping you to resolve conflicts. Using blue stones, especially when you are under stress, can surround you with calming, soothing energies to relieve stress and calm the mind.
